Bob Grossman was inspired to study and recreate old British beers upon visiting London after winning the AHA National Homebrew Competition’s 1991 Barley Wine category and meeting local retired brewers and historians. Over the past 30 years, he has visited many illustrious bars, pubs, breweries, museums and areas of historical interest in Europe, Asia and the U.S. during his career as the librarian of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Bob enjoys brewing with plants and herbs from his expansive organic garden that is recognized as a certified wildlife habitat. He has contributed two articles to Zymurgy magazine. His other passion is performing Renaissance music on period woodwind instruments from the 16th and 17th centuries.
