2008 National Homebrewers Conference a Huge Success

With over 950 attendees from all over the country, the 30th Annual National Hombrewers Conference held this year in Cincinnati, Ohio had its largest attendance to date. Photographs and podcasts from the conference are now online.

There were 16 different seminars for attendees to choose from as well as nightly events, which allowed everyone to share the “brews of their labor”. Pro-Brewers Night featured 25 professional breweries that served a variety of beers. The theme for the night was “Oktoberfest in June,” and everyone was encouraged to dress the part.

At Club Night, a favorite among conference attendees, 41 clubs brought over 600 kegs of homebrew to share with their fellow homebrewing enthusiasts. Each participating club had a theme and clubs were awarded for their creativity, crowd favorite brew and most beer contributed.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and attended, to make this  conference a huge success.  The 2009conference is scheduled for June 18–20 in the San Francisco Bay area.  More information, including hotel accommodations, will be available soon.

Final Round National Homebrew Competition Winners Announced

Results for the 2008 National Homebrew Competition have been calculated. Gold, silver, and bronze medal winners were picked for each of 28 style categories from 759 beers judged in the final round.
