Paul Langlie and his wife Jamie joined Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP) in 1992. They met Ron Pattinson in 2001, when he did a memorable tasting of 10 porters and stouts at 10:00 am on a Sunday at the Café Belgique in Amsterdam for Tour de Burp bicyclists. Paul, an accomplished brewer, was the first place winner of AHA’s 2008 Club-Only Perfect Porter Competition. He and other BURPers have test brewed recipes from The Home Brewer’s Guide to Vintage Beer.
