Yakima Chief-Hopunion
Karl Vanevenhoven is the Sr. VP of Operations for Yakima Chief-Hopunion and responsible for all hop processing and cold storage operations in Sunnyside and Yakima. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. In 1998 he came to the Yakima Valley to design and build Yakima Chief’s Supercritical CO2 Extraction Facility. Karl has been an avid homebrewer for many years and won Best of Show at the Yakima Fresh Hop Ale Festival with fresh wet hops hand-picked from the Select Botanicals Group/Hop Breeding Co.
