National Homebrew Competition

The AHA National Homebrew Competition is the world’s largest international beer competition recognizing the most outstanding homebrewed beer, mead, and cider produced by amateur brewers worldwide.

The first round of the competition takes place at eleven U.S. judge centers in the spring. First round winners advance to the final round of the competition at the AHA National Homebrewers Conference. Final round winners received gold, silver or bronze medals in 28 style categories.

In 1979, 34 entries competed in the first AHA National Homebrew Competition held in Boulder, Colorado. In 2012, 562 entrants out of a pool of 1,735 first round entrants made it it through to the final round of competition in Seattle.

Thanks to the competition judges and stewards for their support!

Those who wish to volunteer as judges or stewards during the 2013 National Homebrew Competition Final Round can do so through the Judge and Steward Registration. Thank you for your interest!
