• Your proposal should describe how the presentation addresses the guidelines outlined below.

Presentation Guidelines

• Conference presentations are focused on homebrewing, mead-making, or cider-making.
• Seminar rooms can hold over 1,000 people.
• Topics of interest include, but aren’t limited to: current trends in homebrewing, brewing equipment, ingredients, processes, beer & food pairing, homebrew retail, brewing history, craft-beer, going-pro, legal issues, clubs, panels, etc.
• The attendees of the conference are a mix of novice to advanced brewers. Presentations can be specifically focused to a number of groups.
• A handful of presentations are given twice. Presenters are encouraged, though not required, to propose multiple presentations on the same topic, possibly at different skill levels.
• Serving beer, mead, or cider during a presentation is not necessary. If serving is relevant to the topic, the maximum number of beverages served during a presentation is two.
• Presentations are 45 minutes long and should allow 15 minutes for questions. The allotted seminar time is 60 minutes.
• Seminar presenters are given one complimentary full conference registration, including a ticket to the grand banquet and award ceremony.
• Travel, hotel and other associated expenses are not covered by the American Homebrewers Association.

Poster Guidelines

• Posters are an ideal way to present a topic when an oral presentation does not fit the standard seminar format. (Ex: Zymurgy gadget Issue – in poster format)
• Posters pertaining to any aspect of homebrewing, mead-making, or cider-making are encouraged.
• Posters are limited to 3’x4’ in size. A tri-fold poster backing is provided.
• Serving beverages with a poster is not recommended, unless it is worked into the planned hospitality schedule and the beer, mead or cider is on tap at the hospitality bar.
• Posters are displayed in the Hospitality Suite.
• Presenters are encouraged to accompany their posters for a set period of time, typically during a two-hour span.
• Conference registration, travel, hotel and other associated expenses are not covered by the American Homebrewers Association.

Submission Evaluation and Selection

Submissions are evaluated by a panel of peers and American Homebrewers Association staff. Decisions are based on a combination of the following criteria:

• Interest in the topic
• Relevance to homebrewing, mead-making, or cider-making
• A review of past presentations
• Presenters’ credentials
